SHA Catastrophic Plan Options

Major emergencies don’t need to overwhelm your life

How it works

Much like how traditional insurance and deductibles work, the member pays everything until the individual’s $5,000 Member Shared Responsibility Amount (MSRA) has been reached. Upon reaching the MSRA, 100% of all hospitalization, surgical, or emergency room expenses are covered up to the member’s annual limit. If a visit to the emergency room happens, the member is responsible for a $300 co-expense. Upon admittance to the hospital, the $300 then gets applied to the MSRA.

Monthly premiums for catastrophic plans vary depending on age. Members can have peace of mind that they are protected against major catastrophic events that could cripple them financially without having to break the bank on high monthly premiums. Catastrophic coverage provides a great combination of low price and good hospital benefits.

Having adequate healthcare coverage is important. When illness strikes, no one wants to be worrying about bills while trying to get well. Catastrophic insurance plans help give peace of mind in case the unimaginable happens.

*All of the SHA Catastrophic Plus plans for individuals and families are supported and are part of a healthcare sharing ministry, and thus members are exempt from any ACA penalties.
